I remotely logged on to a FreeBSD machine. After I idling for a period
of time, I get disconnected. How to change this behavior? Thanks.

Do you know what is logging you out?

I've seen some hosting companies automatically disconnect idle timeouts
before, that happens on the network level and can't be adjusted by the host
you're logging into.

That said, look into the screen utility, particularly the "screen blanker"
options, with screen, even if you get disconnected, you can still regain your
session (and if you set a blanker program, it won't appear idle)
