URGENT NOTICE!!!

We would like all OSS users who have the GUS Patches downloaded from
our Web site at http://www.4front-tech.com to contact us immediately.

Evidently, the GUS patchset is copyright by INI Productions and they
contacted us saying that the GUS patches were being illegally used
in programs such as Timidity and 4Front's SoftOSS Engine. They have
threatend to close us down (via a lawsuite) unless we can tell them
how many users are there with the GUS patchset. The GUS patches were in
a 5MB file called gus-patches.tar.gz. They have been subsequently removed
from our website.

Owners of Gravis Sound Cards needn't worry since they have already
paid for the GUS patchset license when they purchased the soundcard.

To all our OSS customers, we will take care of the licensing issues
at no charge to you but you must identify yourselves to us and provide
us with the following info emailed to d...@4front-tech.com:

Name:
E-mail:
Sound Card Type:
Timidity or SoftOSS:
Where the GUS patches were obtained:
(www.4front-tech.com or other)

We hope that everybody in the Linux and the FreeBSD community cooperates
with us and supports 4Front's Open Sound System (both freeware and
commercial versions).

We also want to make sure that there is no Copyright infringement on our
part or any of our OSS customer's part.

Best regards,
Dev Mazumdar
