perlbrew and perl 5.18

for some reason perl 5.18 is tuff to get
I then tried asa user with cpanm
the install App:;cpanoutdated
when I run cpan-outdated it shows perl 5.14.2 INC
I dont really know enuf perl to fix that
anyone else have trouble with using perlbrew and cpanm
I want cpan-outdated because cpan-outdated -p|cpanm updates all perl modules on the box
can't get it to work as root or my user
