Yes ive looked at that page and i allso discovered that plenty of ppl:s
are complaining that them files are very hard to get working (i havnt
heard of anyone that got it working :( )
Thats why i need some help... i need to know how installation is done
without a tape drive (no i dont have the tapes or even a tape drive).
i do got a CD-rom if that will work (i doubt it).

You'd probably be better off trying to get BSD or Linux running. They
have more modern features as amix is a (now) old port of unix.
Considering the difficulty involved versus the payoff it's not worth it
unless you're doing it just for the challenge.

Yup redhat 5.1 worked ok on my A3000 non Ux ver.
A pc with a crosscompiler is handy to have, I tried to compile a kernel on
my (28mhz cpu 56mhz fpu) A3000 and it was going for 2days before I stopped
it and compiled it in 20 mins on my dual 566 celeron.
