  Thank you both for computing this. Solaris on SPARC gives a different &lt;br&gt; value as you can see if Sun Studio is used. In fact, it gives a &lt;br&gt; different value with gcc if a slightly more complex program is &lt;br&gt; compiled. It would appear that in this case, gcc can inline this, so &lt;br&gt; does not need to make a call to the maths library.

  I&#39;m curious about the CPU cards as used on the 7013-J50, 7015-R50, SP2 &lt;br&gt; High Node, etc. &lt;br&gt; There were a TON of FRUs for the 200MHz part. I saw an ancient post &lt;br&gt; on this group that said IBM had a lot of trouble with the design of &lt;br&gt; this card. &lt;br&gt; After the &#39;X4D&#39;, it seems it was replaced by the &#39;4EG&#39;.   Thanks for answering. &lt;br&gt; There is no deliberate choice from us to have only 1 LV/FS per VG. &lt;br&gt; It&#39;s just the way it has been done on that particular server. &lt;br&gt; Had it been thought of before, we would have created 1 VG for the two &lt;br&gt; LV/FS, and wouldn&#39;t have had any problem reducing one of them to &lt;br&gt; extend the other...
