Subject: how to remove second copy from LV
AIX running is 5.3
Two PVs hdisk0 and hdisk1
One VG which is rootvg,
When OS was initially setup, all the LVs had 2 copies
one on hdisk0 and one on hdisk1

But lately the consumption grows fast suddenly and is nearly
full. So for temporary measure, would like to make some of the
LVs (where user data resides) have 1 copy only , for example
LV name             type       LPs   PPs   PVs  LV state       Mt Point
fslv02              jfs2       210   420   2    open/syncd    /userhome

will become
                               210   210   1

How to do it easily and safely ?
(JFS2 , not JFS is on it , does it make any difference ?)

Thanks

pui ming Wong submitted this idea :

Hi,

you can use command (if you want to remove hdisk1 from this LV)
# rmlvcopy fslv02 1 hdisk1

Or you can use smitty (which will run above command for you)
System Storage Management (Physical & Logical Storage) -> Logical
Volume Manager -> Logical Volumes -> Set Characteristic of a Logical
Volume -> Remove a Copy from a Logical Volume

Regards,
Kmeco
