I have VIO server installed with two AIX 5.3 mLPARs. Each mLPAR has
10G assigned. Unfortunately, this isnt enough. the mLPARs backing
devices are logical volumes on the VIO server. I increaded these LVs
to 17Gb each.

On the mLPARs if i use bootinfo - hdisk0 i se the devices as 17G,
however through smit, the Physical Volumes status only reads as 10G.

I want to increase the size of some of the logical volumes. how do i
get the mLPAR to recognise the disk size has changed? I have tried
shutting down the VIO server and mLPAR but no change.

look at "chvg -g". will not work for rootvg disks though. for rootvg do
this: map a new 17G lv as a virtual disk to the vio client. mirror.
remove old disk and lv.
