You need Solaris 10 update 8; you have Solaris 10 update 6.

You might get there by installing all patches referring to bug 6708609

Hi Casper,

Thanks for your quick response.

I have installed the Solaris 10u6. I m new to soalaris os.

I have download sol-10-u11-companion-ga.iso.bz2 iso image from below link and followed the instruction given in that link

http://sunfreeware.com/companioncd.html

The package all are installed at /opt/ folder. Now i m trying to re-install the VxVM S/W, but no luck.

How to upgrade to the Solaris 10u8 or latest rather than download and fresh install of the solaris 10u8. Can you please guide me.

Thanks,
Praveen.

You will need to upgrade; there are two ways to do that:
- boot the newer version of Solaris from the DVD and it
should then offer an upgrade

- if your have a zfs root, then it is easy to use liveupgrade

- or you need to find a sepearate partition and use that
to upgrade.

In the last two cases, you will first need to install liveupgrade
from the version you are upgrading to.
