I am running AT&T Unix V3.1, and do my backups using the backup command,
which backups up all files that have been modified since the system was
installed.

I wish to know if there is some easy way to prevent certain directories
from being backed up, aside from changing their time stamp to some pre-
install date.

The actual directories are the news subdirectories, which I don't want to
back up, but need the date stamp on the files for retiring. I run the backup
as root, so I can't just change the directory permissions. I do backups
to floppies (yes, I admit it).

Thanks
