For implementing a minimum cost broadcast routing we use the minimum
spanning tree. Is there a possibility of any other algorithm which
works better than the minimum spanning tree.

How do you define "minimum cost broadcast"? Does your definition differ
from the definition of a minimum spanning tree?

It has the similar definition, where in this case, minimum spanning
tree is the, minimum cost tree connecting all routers with attached
group members
