As it turns out I was having difficutly reaching this newsgroup
because google directed me to the 'new' google groups format which had
only a handful of groups and posts. I still dont understand however,
why there are so many local discussion group forums on the same topics
that are also present on usenet. If one searches outside usenet it
seems as though all answers come from 1 or 2 sources, like
ask.com.
Subjects that are too esoteric(spelling) that are not present on the
web but are present on usenet do not come up. Only google has the
usenet archive (google bought deja news back when, which in my opinion
made google what it is today) so a search on any other search engine
has no record of usenet discussions. Question: Is it possible to
archive usenet from the beginning using the google archive? Or does
google limit the reach of old messages without a direct search (i have
been able to see my posts from 10 years ago),
