Is there a way to make CAs evolve so that they produce circular expanding
fronts?

I have a CA that produces wavefronts but only rectangular ones. I'm trying
to model something.

I keep getting the impression that off/empty cells would be arranged in a
rectangular grid but those near on cells would drift closer to each other.

It's almost like a gravitational effect being necessary just we can have
circles and ellipses.

Precisely what I was thinking it should look like. Nice. Now to turn it
into my neighbor independent CA model.
