SATELLITE MEETING COMPLEX BEHAVIOUR IN DISCRETE DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS
in the framework of the
2012 EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON COMPLEX SYSTEMS

Brussels, Belgium, September 5, 2012
http://www.disdysys.ugent.be
********************************************************************************

You are kindly invited to submit an extended abstract to our Satellite Meeting Complex Behavior in Discrete Dynamical Systems that is held in the framework of the 2012 European Conference on Complex Systems, and which is a continuation of the Satellite Meeting Unravelling Discrete Dynamical Systems that was organized in 2011.

High-quality submissions built upon intermediary or final results on all aspects that are involved in the complex behaviour and dynamical properties of discrete dynamical systems are encouraged, especially if they contribute to a further understanding of the complex dynamics that can be brought forth by such systems. Of particular interest are results on the dynamical properties or complex behaviour of (but not restricted to)

Agent-based models
Cellular automata
Coupled-map lattices
Graph automata
Interacting particle systems
Maps
Networks
Spatial point models
Substitution systems
Turing machines

A proposal for a talk or poster at this satellite meeting can be done by preparing an extended abstract (2 pages max) using the LaTeX template files that are available through http://www.disdysys.ugent.be/TemplateTeX.zip and submitting it using the Abstracts Submission Page. If you do not have a LaTeX compiler at your disposal, you may also submit the abstract in plain ASCII format. The extended abstract may contain figures and tables to illustrate the presented results. The submission system is now open and early submissions are welcome. Please prepare your submission in accordance with the rules described above and submit a pdf file via https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=eccs12satellites.

PUBLICATION:

All the accepted abstracts will be published in the online repository of the Complex Systems Society proceedings.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Abstract submission: June 10 , 2012
Abstract submission: May 31 , 2012
Notification of abstract acceptance or rejection: June 20, 2012
Final version of the abstract for the proceedings: July 1, 2012
Meeting: September 5, 2012

CONFERENCE LOCATION:

The satellite Meeting Complex Behavior in Discrete Dynamical Systems will be held in the framework of the 2012 European Conference on Complex Systems, which is organized in the K buillding, on the Solbosch campus of Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium, September 3-7, 2012 (More Information). Brussels is the Belgian and European captial that has a lot to offer to its visitors (http://visitbrussels.be), and is located near historical cities such as Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp, such that short trips to Belgium's highlights are certainly possible in the margin of the satellite meeting and the main conference.
