Since I know that Joseph Wright is reading here, I write to this group:

I tried to find a definition for molar i.e. Moles per liter, one of the
basic units in chemistry but I could not find it.

Therefore I would like know how to prepare a macro \molar which could be
used with/within the siunit package.

Thanks for your help!

Greetings from the Black Forest!

Take a look at the section 'loading additional units' in the manual. In
version 1, I did include \molar and \Molar, but tightened up on sticking
to SI units (almost) exclusively for version 2. The suggested
definitions are

\DeclareSIUnit\molar{\mole\per\cubic\deci\metre}
\DeclareSIUnit\Molar{\textsc{m}}

I further noticed that there are two packages siunits and siunitx, the
latter is obviously the newer one!!!

there are more than just those two. iirc, joseph's aim in writing
siunitx was to wrap up all the useful facilities, in a coherent whole.

as far as i know, siunitx is the only one of the packages that is
maintained just now.

It took some time, but now I have it going:

- created local siunitx.cfg file.
- found out difference between \si and \SI

It is always the same, if you can read, your life is easier!

Thanks for help to everybody!
