Glue after question mark not ending sentence

Often a question mark is used in the middle of sentence, for example:
"Who has not seen a
salt fish, thoroughly cured for this world, so that nothing can spoil
it, and putting, the perseverance of the saints to the blush? with
which you may sweep or pave the streets,..."

This is a style question: Should I use normal interword glue after the
question mark?

i would: "... the blush?\@ with ..."

No, it's just an example I took from Walden; It is odd text, I admit.
