JBIG2 AT pixels 
  I am working on a JBIG2 encoder, and am considering moving the AT pixels to other positions. I wonder if PDF readers special case the default positions, such that they would run faster for that case. So far, I see only a pretty small improvement in compression with other positions, though I haven't tried so hard.... more »

Copy short description of each chapter to txt 
  Hello Folks ! I have around 40 pdf documents, all of them are indexed (left menu chapters pointing to the exact page where the text starts). Each file has around 10 chapters. I need to copy the first 50 words (for example), and move it to an excel, word or text file, so i can create a "preview" of each chapter.... more »

Strange font “substitution” or what it is 
  Hello, has anybody encountered this problem? A pdf file opened in AdobeReader 9.4.2 for Linux on Mandriva 10.2 looks like this: [link] The file was created by MS Word 2007 on Vista using Word‘s own “Save as” → “PDF or XPS”. Any advice is welcomed!... more »

Rasterize on Trimbox OR Cropbox with GhostScript 
  Hi, Is possible to define an alternative area to rasterize PDF? Example: All PDF must have a TrimBox but in case the PDF don't have this area I would like that GhostScript use as "alternative area" the Cropbox. Stefano

need to save my filled in forms - Free way? 
  I really only use the pdf forms from the IRS/State to do our taxes. Problem is many times I need to stop and come back. Is there a free app for *gulp* win98se that would either allow me to save it or take the place of adobe reader? I have to keep it in the original format since we print these off to mail back to the IRS/State.... more »

How to remove all links from a .pdf ? 
  Hello all, I have files with lots of links; I have a software that allows me to remove them one by one :-( ! I can print in a new .pdf but then I loose the bookmarks and the size goes up... Any Windoze idea ? TIA, Philippe Lemaire

Colour spaces in pdf and printing -- advice? 
  Hi, in my document I use coloured text and (mostly vector) graphics. Any advice what colour space to use? The document is supposed to be read as a pdf and printed out. Consequences of PDF writer without 64-bit version 
  [link] says that PDFCreator does not come in a 64-bit version. I'm running windows 7 64-bit, and it can run 32-bit applications. What is the consequence of a PDF writer not coming in a 64-bit version?
