New contract requires that customer get all final docs in MSWord.
Send working copies in pdf, exported from Ileaf. These are long,
complex documents, splendidly rendered in Ileaf (Quicksilver),
originals as Ileaf books. The Ileaf export to MSWord(rtf) works
reasonably well for body text, but murders artwork, frames, tables,
headers/footers, etc. Have any of you found a practical way to
make this conversion ?

all our documents are in interleaf and sometimes we are required to
convert into word or pdf files. i have never had a problem with
frames, tables etc. i usually have to do a page set up in the
converted document. are you saving your old (to convert) as ascii
document and changing file properties to ascii before you do the
conversion? don't know what else to tell ya.

Eve H.,

Forgot about that ascii-save routine. It helps a lot. Now much
more comes through to MSWord. One lingering problem: much
of the original artwork is boxed in a ruled frame. In the Word version,
three sides of the ruled box come through but often one is missing.
(Like it's off-screen or out of the frame.) Need to recover it or else
re-draw it in the word document. Any suggestions ?

Thanks for your help.

(P.S., my customer does biz with BAE, but this job is with Boeing.)

usually the entire document comes thru. some re formatting needs to be
done. i know what you mean about the frames. they are there but they
come in really oversized. several things you can do. a. select the
frame/picture - right click, select format picture, select the size
tab, and change the height and width size (percentage) until it fits.
and also sometimes you have to also do the layout tab and fool around
with that. hope this helps
