Windows virtulization and fonts and shared folders
|
| |
I'll be getting a MacBook Pro soon, and I need to run FrameMaker in Windows. FrameMaker has historically been rather quick at its operation, so speed is not an issue. I'm using Frame for main book work, and using Mac apps for everything else. The two things that are an issue are fonts and shared folders.... more »

I’d like the first title element in a ditamap (could be in a concept or task or whatever) to be formatted differently from subsequent titles, so it could function as the chapter title. Is there a way to do this in the EDD?... more »

Can I insert user-defined variables into a TOC?
|
| |
My book has a chapter-wide variable I defined called "System Heading", and it's defined on the master page of each chapter. I want the variable to appear in my TOC. I suppose, in retrospect, that I should've used something more like Running H/F1,but I didn't, and now many files are completed with this variable in use.... more »

backward compatibility (FM7.0 and FM7.1)
|
| |
Hi all, If I use FM 7.0, I can open an .fm file that was authored/edited by an author using FM 7.1. No MIF file is needed. How bad an idea is to allow some authors to use 7.0 and others to use 7.1? I just discovered that some of our part-time authors were installed with version 7.1 and the rest of us are using 7.0.... more »
