hi all,

I'm using a CentOS 6 system in the US and when I do some things, (like
compile downloaded source),

I see chars that aren't being translated properly.

The sequences are:

E2 80 98 (char is the ` key)
E2 80 99 (char is the opposite ` char)

I can't seem to find the right settings in Putty to display these.
(i've looked it up and what seems like the right settings don't work.)

little help?

Thanks,

-Ben

Hexadecimal E28098 is a UTF-8 encoding of Unicode character U+2018 LEFT
SINGLE QUOTATION MARK.

Set Putty to interpret characters as UTF-8

Settings; Window; Translation; Received Data assumed to be in; UTF-8
