hello

I try to understand how XWindows run under Helios, I took my Parsytec
GDS2 and I mounted a small networks (4xT800 with 2x4 and 2x2 Mbram and
the GDS2 (2Mram and 2M Vram}.

My map file contains:

terminal GDS2 { , ~mtm01, ~ mtm02, ; System; memory 200000; ptype
T800;}
so with à "Network list" or Network monitor, all good.

after i have modify my startx fill like this :

echo starting X server
remote -d GDS2 run xhelios

on start, i have a message " can not find GDS2 processor" and crash
has there any other has changed?

GDS2 the manual talks about a bookstore: "gds2.d" file that I did not,
instead I have a "newgds2.d"
I can not find anywhere in the config files of xwindows reference to
this library, or site for future reference.

Best Regards
Damien

For the newgds2.d drivers, i think i need to declare them on "devinfo"
file, like ethernet or fs adaptater , but how, i don't know the
option...

Not in "deinfo" but in \helios\local\xsrc\devices\newxrc under
"hardware_device="

For the timing values of your monitor you can also try:
http://www.transputer.net/tools/vtg/

Does your XServer now starts successfully?

Hi mike,

not better,

But I have not had much time to look into the issue lately, should I
run in debug mode helios, I feel that the node loses the GDS2 time to
time.
