Helios: Heterogeneous Multiprocessing with Satellite Kernels

At Microsoft Research there is a publication about a multiprocessor
operating system project named HELIOS.

If you read this publication (http://research.microsoft.com/pubs/81154/
helios.pdf) you will find many similarities with HELIOS from
Perihelion. For my opinion important things like security and fault
tolerance has been omitted but other things like to use an
intermediate language are also forward-looking.

Count yourself lucky if you have a transputer - so you don't have to
code a scheduler ;-)
