Stringy Floppy Data I/O program now on virtual wafer
(Apologies for Cross-Posting) Hi, Tonight a friend of mind dug out his long stored Exatron Stringy Floppy and wafers, and we managed to image the elusive ESF I/O program, for use with Matthew Reed’s TRS32 emulator. This will allow commands such as @input, @print, @open etc. to be used with the ESF.... more »

More on ESF programs
On a long stored disk image I've discovered a copy of ESF-Monitor, the monitor program developed by the ESF owners association. I also discovered a photocopied manual at the very bottom a storage box. I became quite familiar with this program for both transfering cassette software to the ESF and patching things like Scripsit so it... more »

Free: TRS-80 Model III + books (Adelaide, Australia)
I've got a TRS-80 Model III which I'd like to see go to a good home. It's a Model III with (allegedly!) 32K RAM, and two disk drives. It's in very nice cosmetic condition, but it has a video fault. Going price for Model I with expansion interface and drives?
My first computer was a Model I with 4K RAM and level I basic, upgraded to 48K Level II, expansion interface and dual drives. I'd like to get another, in near new condition. What's the going rate for a system like this?

Checking Floppy Drives WITHOUT a Boot Disk
There has been a recent uptick in people getting TRS-80's only to find out that the disk drives do not work AFTER getting diskettes. Does anyone know how to get as good a gauge as to whether the floppy drive works or not, short of having a boot disk? This applies to Model I and III/4. Thanks!

ESF.ROM
Hi, I see that the Matthew Reed emulator now supports Exatron Stringy Floppy. Is the ESF ROM available any place which supports this mode? I see back in 2004 there was a thread with a HEX dump of the ROM - maybe that is the only thing available?
