I seem to recall a power plant simulator game called "Harrisburg",
which ran (from cassette tape?) on the TRS-80 model 1.... but can't
find any trace on it on the Internet. Am I mistaken?

That sounds familiar. Since the real "near meltdown" was in the spring of
1979, that might help narrow it down.

For some reason, I can almost picture it coming from Wayne Green's
software company, whatever that was called. It might have even been in 80
Microcomputing before? The only reason I'd associate it with his ocmpany
is that I never had a model 1, just a various Color Computers and the
Model 100 laptop, so I wouldn't have been paying attention to software and
especially games for the model 1. But his ads ran in his magazines,
including "73" so I would have been more likely to see it.

I may be completely misremembering, but maybe this is an angle to try, if
it works it narrows things down.

Might it have been MELT DOWN, in the August 1979 issue of Softside
magazine? The author was Michael Winter, and an alternate title was
NUCLEAR REACTOR. You can find a copy at the Internet Archive:

Hm.... from browsing the article, it seems to have less graphics than I
remember. I'll try it on an emulator and report.
