Hi - I've got a Model II w/a defective keyboard. Turs out each key pushes a round silver foil agains the keyboard PCB, and each key has a small foam piece to cushion the round foil. About half of the keys have foam which has basically disintegrated from age, and I'm in the process of replacing the foam.
Would love to have an extra KB on hand as well, so seeing if anyone knows of any sources to obtain one.

I GOT ONE! But it's the COMPLETE COMPUTER however. It's a white colored Color Computer 2 and has a special video mod upgrade installed inside of it that allows you to connect it to an RCA input as well as a TV Coaxial. I've plugged it in and tested it and it appears to be fully functional, although I have no software or cartridges to test it with to verify this fact. Feel free to email me if you're interested.

He's not talking about CoCo. He's talking about the TRS-80 Model II keyboard. The Model II was a Z-80 (32K or 64K) business system with a video monitor and one 8" floppy in one cabinet and a separate keyboard.

Grant,
I've got a keyboard from a Model 12. I don't know if it's the same as Model II. It worked great about 3 years ago. You can have it cheap.

They aren't the same, unfortunately. The model 16's keyboard is (not 16B; it's the same as the 12's). The Model 12/16B/6000's keyboard has an attached cable; the Model II and 16's keyboard cable is part of the system unit, and plugs into the keyboard (IIRC, it HAS been quite a long time). -- Lamar Owen Director of Information Technology Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, Rosman, NC www.pari.edu
