Model 4 monitor question

Is the monitor that's contained within a model 4 trs-80 the same as the one
that's in a model 3?

I believe it is electrically the same. That is, I believe you can
connect a model 4 monitor to a model 3 and visa-versa. The model 4
had both white and green tubes, where the model 3 had only white. So,
they're not necessarily "identical" in every way. But I think you can
interchange them. You might take a look at the Model 3 and model 4
technical/service manuals and verify that. I remember having a model
3 that was upgraded to a model 4. The motherboard was swapped, but
the monitor (i.e. CRT and driver board) were left untouched.

The later green ones sure aren't. Even the white ones seem to be sharper to
me.

Ya, the CRTs are certainly improved. But I think it's electrically
the same in that you can interchange them (with a difference in image
quality). I do like the green ones. Very nice picture.
