Ask Ira at trs-80.com
Would it help with a virtual disk? I could email one to you; TRSDOS 2.7DD in DMK format.

I have one from Ira's old site but it never seemed to work for me.
Could you send one to me as well?
TIA
Tom Lake
Thanks for the image you sent me but it's the same one as I had. It doesn't
run
on the RS double-density mod, only the Percom mod. I'm still looking for
the
unmodified version (or a patch to restore this image back to its original
state)

New files sent, sorry, I didn't think about that.
These disks are all DD disks (while LDOS and DOSPLUS were distibuted on 35 track SSSD disks - I have
originals real disks). I wonder if Tandy/RS did distribute these DOS's on DD disks. Maybe it was
typical to buy these with the Tandy/RS DD kit.
BTW I also found I have TRSDOS 2.8 and 3.0 images too.
Knut
Thanks for the updated images! Why are there two of them?
Maybe you could post a list of changes between 2.7DD, 2.8 and 3.0?
Were those last two ever sold at retail? I never saw them in an RS
catalog.

TRSDOS 2.7 was included with the Radio Shack Double-Density Disk Kit,
their answer to the Percom Doubler. It wasn't an upgrade to TRSDOS 2.3,
but a new operating system that had roots in common with Model II TRSDOS.
TRSDOS 2.8 was an upgrade to 2.7 that patched a nasty bug in the copy
command. The Percom Doubler compatible version was created by users (not
Radio Shack) who patched TRSDOS 2.7 so it would work with the Percom
Doubler instead. Here's an article about the various versions of Model I
TRSDOS:
<http://www.trs-80.org/trsdos-model1-versions/>
The disk image of TRSDOS 3.0 has always puzzled me. The date of 1979
suggests that it could be an early version of VTOS 3.0, but the library
commands suggest otherwise. It might be a development version that was
never released or a special version supplied with a Radio Shack program.
