What is L1-A?

I've heard L1-A mentioned in a Vonage job listing, and it's something
I've never heard of. I was just curious if any old-timers could explain
what the heck it is. Anyone care to entertain me?

My best guess (from what I can easily google) is that it's some kind of
keystroke combination that puts you into a maintenance mode for boxen
running Solaris. Am I close to the truth?

As close as you can get :)

Sun keyboards always had an extra set of function keys on the left side.
At http://sunstuff.org/hardware/components/keyboards/ you can see that
they were named L1, L2 etc. at first, and later got names. L1 is now
labelled Stop, so L1-A and Stop-A describe the same key combination.
