libxview.so.3 not found?

Hi,
When I was trying to use some applications under SUN OS 4.1.3, system
told me libxview.so.3 not found. I found that lib in the directory
/usr/openwin.old/openwin3.0/lib, but it's libxview.so.3.1 not
libxview.so.3
I put the /usr/openwin.old/openwin3.0/lib into the lib-path, but
system still told me libxview.so.3 not found. Isn't libxview.so.3.1
backward compatible? Or I should do somthing else to set the path
into the lib-path?
