I just started configuring intallation server for Solaris 9 and install
Solaris 9 on one of SunBlade 150 workstation. I have three questions
regarding this Solaris 9 installation, hope anyone can have the answer.
1) If I boot machine from Solaris 9 Software CD 1 of 2, the installation
user interface is different from Solaris 8. Solaris 8 could give a GUI
and you can ues mouse to choose the optiotns, but Solaris 9 just gives
you form type of installation interface (suninstall) and you need to use
keyboard to choose options. Am I right on this?
2) I tried to setup Solaris 9 installation server, when finished
Software CD 1 and 2, mounted Solaris 9 installation CD and tried to run
the following command to copy Web Start interface software to the
installation server:
modify_install_server -p <installation dir> /cdrom/cdrom0/s1
After several minutes, it failed with error message: "Failed to apply
package SUNWdegui". What is reason for this error and how can I fix it?
3) Since I ran into problem when copying Web Start interface software to
the installation server, can I make the installation server go back to
the state before copying Web Start interface software by doing "mv
BOOT.orig BOOT" under <instllation dir>/Solaris_9/Tools?
Thank you very much for your help!

This was true also on solaris 8. It all depends on which CD you use to
do the install.
