We have a Solbourne Server Series 5E/700 for evaluation. Our current
configuration consists of:

. Two 40 Mhz Sparc CPU boards
. 128 MBytes RAM
. One Multi Channel IO Board
. Dual SCSI VME Board
. 500 MByte Internal Disk
. 13 1GByte External SCSI disks
. One 1/4" Tape Drive
. One CDROM Drive
. One 8mm Drive

We are running the Solbourne OS/MP 4.1A.1. We experience consistent system
crashes when exercising the system, for example when running the 'fstest'
command (read/write files with various parameters on NFS mounted disks)
on one of the client machines in the same subnet. Disabling eNFS version
2.0 does not eliminate the problem.

Questions:

1. Has anyone out there a similar configuration and is happy with
his/her system?
2. Can a Solbourne Server Series 5E/700 handle that many SCSI devices?
3. Has anyone out there a similar configuration (Sparc, mid-range)
from another manufacturer and is happy?

I appreciate any advice and comments via email and will post SUMMARY of responses.
