Boot off of remote CD-ROM Drive?
I have two V245's, only one of which actually has a CD-ROM drive. I'd like to upgrade the OS and reconfigure the disk on the one which doesn't have the CD-ROM drive. Of course, I could shutdown both systems and swap the CD-ROM from one V245 to the other, however, I would like to avoid shutting down the... more »

client: searching for jumpstart directory: not found. No entry in rules file.
Any ideas what to check.... /etc/bootparams seems to be doing its job because client boots up ok and seems to find the correct sysidcfg. However, for some reason its saying rules is wrong. What to check first?

DOes anyone ever read these newsgroups anymore?
Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone ever reads these newsgroups anymore. It seems like it's been ages since any traffic came this way... I guess it's a sign o' the times and a movement towards the web-based forums. Nice to see that comp.unix.solaris is still fairly active though!

sol 10 x86 - already in use as a driver or alias
Got an twinhead laptop that I'm installing Solaris 10 onto. During install, network interface is not found, but on the HCL someone has suggested the use of a gani driver. I built one of these a few months ago and the gani driver worked a treat. Had to install gcc etc first and build it but it worked.... more »

Business Web Hosting: Cheap Stands for Great?
Let's look at one of the most important factors for those who sell domains: ‘age'. Domain's have an age too, starting from the day you registered it and ending right now. Age plays a big factor when you sell domains. Even if you thought of the perfect name for a site, it isn't worth anything if everyone knows you just paid $7 to get it... more »

I have taken a look at ora-smf.1.5.1.pkg and it des look like the sort of tool I need, but i am unsure how to implement it for multiple... more »
