  How are you burning the CD? Are you using the website&#39;s Java applet &lt;br&gt; (Sun Download Manager) to download the DVD image?   I download that file : sol-10-u5-ga-x86-dvd.iso twice and each time I &lt;br&gt; burn it on DVD I had the error : &lt;br&gt; That CD/DVD is not Solaris media after going on steps of &lt;br&gt; installation . &lt;br&gt; Is that file corrupted and how can I use md5 to check it and where can &lt;br&gt; I get it and use it ? &lt;br&gt; can I download the 5 CDs files and do that concatenation :

  how about &lt;br&gt; /dev/md/dsk/d2	/dev/md/rdsk/d2	/storage/data1	ufs	2	yes &lt;br&gt; The top of /etc/vfstab in solaris even explains the columns and what they &lt;br&gt; represent. &lt;br&gt; man mount for more info on this. &lt;br&gt; If you want all the details on how your mounts are really setup cat &lt;br&gt; /etc/mnttab or run mount -p

This is the mount line &amp;quot;mount /dev/md/dsk/d2 &lt;br&gt; /storage/data1&amp;quot; I don&#39;t necessarily want to scan the mirrored array. &lt;br&gt; The line mounts the array fine. this is my first time adding a &lt;br&gt; mirrored array to the vfstab, Can any one give me some pointers.

  kmdb is working fine with the DVD solaris x86 installation file but &lt;br&gt; when I tried to download the 5 files for Installing u5 of solaris 10 &lt;br&gt; on PIII. I tried the GRUB command kmdb instead of cdrom with the first &lt;br&gt; CD but with installing from CDs the PC totally hang up after issuing &lt;br&gt; the GRUB kmdb though it worked fine with the DVD file .

  Our Solaris 9 server has a disk c3t9d0 which reports via SMART that it &lt;br&gt; is failing. However, it has no uncorrected errors yet, so it should be &lt;br&gt; ok to just copy the data off of it (rather than restoring the whole &lt;br&gt; volume from tape). It is part of this lvm, from /etc/lvm/md.tab &lt;br&gt; d60 1 4 /dev/dsk/c4t0d0s2 \
