Am I missing drivers or something?

Probably. In spite of "VESA", video cards and drivers have a marketing
life that is approximately that of the average fruit fly! If you call
Sun, they MIGHT have a driver available. Then again they might not.

Ergo might have a Solaris video driver. Or not! You won't know until
you ask.

What you CAN do is check the hardware compatibility list (HCL) for
hardware that is supported (Sun) or known to work.

The HCL may be found at http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/

A VERY hasty check does not yield ANY reference to Ergo.

The OpenSolaris LiveCD will spew more details about the
underlying hardware and whether its currently supported.

Did you use the device detection tool to see if the hardware is supported?
