Boot off of remote CD-ROM Drive?

I have two V245's, only one of which actually has a CD-ROM drive. I'd
like
to upgrade the OS and reconfigure
the disk on the one which doesn't have the CD-ROM drive. Of course, I
could
shutdown both systems and
swap the CD-ROM from one V245 to the other, however, I would like to
avoid shutting down the
V245 with the CD-ROM if possible.

Is there a way to boot off or install an OS off of a remote CD-ROM?

Sure, by setting up a jumpstart server, but you'll be copying the
contents of the CD-ROM onto the hard drive of the jumpstart server anyway.
It'll take some time to do this though.
I haven't tried it on a V245, but can you hookup an external USB
CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive and boot from it?

SPARC/OBP systems do not support USB boot.
