Attaching second J4200 to live machine

we have a SunFire T1000 with a SAS HBA card in it. Attached to this is a
J4200 disk array with 6 SAS disks in it. The J4200 has a single controller
card in it, so there is just the one cable between the T1000 and the J4200.
We have purchased a second J4200 which we intend to daisy chain off the
existing one.
Am I able to attach the second disk array to the live system, or will I
need to bring it down?
All the indications I have found in the documentation are that every part
of the J4200 is hot pluggable, but at the same time I haven't found any
description of the exact procedure to follow to attach an extra array to a
live system.
The machine hosts a database and a few other applications which are
business critical, and it resides in a data centre far away. I am hoping
to avoid an after hours journey, but don't want to risk crashing the system
if attaching this live is not recommended.
Any pointers to relevant documentation would be very much appreciated.
