Pardon the newbie-like question. I have several solaris 8 boxes which
I have been managing for a while, and I just got a new soaris 10 box
(sun fire x4240) that I am trying to set up. I have an array of 12
SAS disks that I have just set up as a raid5 using StorMan.sh (which I
got off of the tools cd that came with the computer).

This all seemed to work fine. In the StorMan GUI, I can see the new
raid volume sitting there, along with the 4 smaller disks that came in
the system. However, there does not seem to be a /dev/rdsk/... item
for the new array. If I run "format", I see the 4 single disks, but
not the new raid.

How can I make this raid accessible to anything other than StorMan so
that I can set up the partition table and run newfs?

I found the solaris management console (smc), and started the Enhanced
Storage tool, but when I look under "Volumes" it shows me nothing. If
instead of the Enhanced Storage tool, I just click on "Disks" it gives
me an error that says "Attempt to get a list of all Disks failed with
unexpected CIM error: CIM_ERR_FAILED".

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. The system has been rebooted.

Looks like "devfsadm" did the trick. Sorry for the interruption.
