Good idea, presuambly PLAY's support for MIDI would still work then.

Hmm. There is still some software that uses it which would look a bit odd
without it. But not much, I guess.

OUT commands. Preferably locked at startup and requiring a special coded
sequence of OUTs to unlock the extra hardware for compatability (ala the
CPC+)

And the CPC+. :-) Although, 256 would be perfectly adequate and would
perhaps better suit an 8 bit machine.

Sounds good. Although it would be nice if Sonic ZX still ran on a "proper"
speccy.
