Well you can always put him in your kill file if you like or just don't read
his messages. Now if he was putting binaries ont he group then I'd moan, but
I don't expect everyone to read what I gibber and others hopefully feel
much the same. At the moment talking about it is twasting far more
bandwidth than the original complaint!

Brian, the probable reason you haven't seen at least some of the spam is because the idiot posted the URL *as the subject* -- an incredibly dumb thing to do on Usenet, as it's a 99% accurate "this is spam" indicator, and for this reason the help files of Forte Agent actually tell you how to create a kill filter to auto-trash such messages (as probably do the help files of other newsreaders).

I replied to one of his posts to point this out, and his reply (by email, a long time later) was "what's Usenet?". :-) Truly a totally clueless idiot...

If you believe someone is persistently hacking into your computer you
should contact the police.
Of course if you are just blaming your low connection speed on some
paranoid fantasy about teams of hackers employed by evil service
providers then you'd just be wasting police time which is also an offence :p

P.S. it's considered rude to reply directly to a poster, please click
"reply to group" or whatever the equivalent is in whatever you're using
to read Usenet.

I got the same mail again today, it got 157 attachements and about 20 youtube video links. Most interestingly, the header of the mail is:
"crap games why not focus on new good ones
seen rtype cpc new version yet?"

I'm filtering the e-mail now, as I don't want to waste my 3G quota with this again...

if you want to see what's it containing:
http://pastebin.com/BVsCGTdj

it's spam afterall.

Ah, the user "roger...@gmail.com" is already gone.. Hmm I didn't know if this is possible on usenet.

Wouldn't surprise me if someone had taken offence to his abuse and
reported him. I didn't do so, but I did post google's abuse report page
link on WoS after he sent a torrent of racist[1] abuse to Thomas from
Sintech.

I think nationalities are technically counted as "races" for the purpose of assessing hate crime. At least, that's the way it was 15 years ago when I used to do voluntary work for a charity which no longer exists.

Interestingly [citation needed], at that time it used to be that it was hate crime to discriminate against someone on the grounds of their being (say) a Sikh or Hindu, but not on the grounds of being a Christian, Moslem or Buddhist[1], because the latter have members of all races and the former do not; it was also not hate crime to discriminate on the grounds of being Rastafarian (provided of course that there was no demonstrable racial component) because although Rastafarians are almost exclusively Jamaican, on the other hand it's not a legally-established religion, at least notc in the UK.

[1] OK, I know that Buddhism is non-theist and thus technically a philosophy rather than a religion, but most people don't draw that distinction.

The quoted reply from Spam MI6 Persecution Coupe Jowett explains a lot (as does the fact that it's been deleted, at least from Google Groups, which is why I'm having to quote it indirectly); clearly Roger-Everybody Jowett is not only an idiot but an ill-mannered and semi-literate[1] one as well. No wonder Google have got as fed-up with him as the rest of us.

[1] For the record, "wont" means habit ("he corrected the other poster's errors in English usage, as is his wont"); the correct contraction of "will not" is "won't". As far as I'm aware, there's no such word as "dont". This is why punctuation was invented.

And he should save his ridiculously-overpriced bandwith by not wasting it in replying to me by email (in breach of Usenet etiquette, as others have pointed out), because I'm not going to waste mine by reading whatever rubbish he's sent.

He's now resurrected a six-year-old thread (having missed it when it was first posted when he was four or five years old?) asking for a Sam Coupe manual.

Incidentally, does anyone on this group have a Roger Jowett manual? :-)

cant see what it is conatining the png files dont show up as teh tiny images they are they are really small almost passport foto size 256x192 only so you can never view them fullscreen thanks to massively hi level languages inability to detect bandwidth or screen resolution

it was only €cu399 when i began trying to eggn chips info from him about it
baid rate for serial ports how does dma benefit
where does 128k second video ram page using the external ram of MB-02+ if it does have 128 kompatibility? what happens to this external video ram page - as the 48/16 dont got one when its connected to a 128?
+2ab3 kompatiblity
still its was only €cu399
available from
http://www.benophetinternet.nl/hobby/mb02/

but this isnt Ingo Trupel site who may have had something to do with the original but again to whom you should not post difficult questions about it as he thinks they are spam

If you were using Google Groups (as I'm having to do at the moment) you would see that this is the same person as Roger Jowett, aka Spam Toupee, klp2, or whatever other nick he's using this week -- he changes nick more often than his underpants.[citation needed]

Strangely, when replying by email he still goes by Roger Jowett; I know because he today sent me such a missive despite my already saying on this group that I wouldn't be reading any such. Hence, it's been reported as the spam that it is.

He was using the library before which is why he was complaining about

He's gone very quiet on c.s.s though so perhaps BT hacked his modem and
