Hello. It has been brought to my attention that Spectrums, weekends,
beer and Oxford have been combined successfully in the past, and it's
about time we did it again.

So, let's decide on a date for the next Oxford Speccy pubmeet. Here's a
poll...
http://doodle.com/79fyhtvxzmhpxbtb

(Venue to be decided. For previous participants who aren't aware: the
Gloucester Arms is now the White Rabbit, and has been repainted in a
non-edgy shade of white. It fulfils the condition of being a pub, but is
conspicuously not the Gloc any more.)

Sadly "chuck norris" can't make it. Seems to be a choice between May the
4th or 25th. I'd go for the former, although that would create the a
risk of conversations about Thatcher.

Hmm... I managed to delete that obviously fake entry. Does that mean we
can all delete each other's entries without warning?

Eq.

Presumably. Anyway, that seems to settle it as May 25th.

Fun... I bet that's a ruse to get you to sign up for an account. All the
decent 'which weekend shall we pick' services seem to have died since I
last did one.

Yup, let's go for that before someone jinxes it by not being able to
make it. Make a note in your filofaxes now!

I'm going to make a note in the Speccy diary software I wrote back in
1990. Filofaxes are soooo yesterday!

They are? Damn. I was saving up for one. Oh well, I suppose I can put
the money towards a Walkman.

Westgate looks to be the cheapest nearby car park, but the prices are
loaded on Saturday.

Oxford's Park & Ride service is pretty decent. Or it was the last time I
used it a few years ago, anyway.

Cheers,

Phil

That's the trouble with owning a sports car. You get paranoid about
where you park.

Excellent! I think I will put in an appearance. Might bring some Timexes and some Microdigitals.

The more Timexen the merrier. Don't suppose you've got a UK2086 in your
collection?

No Unipolbrit. I haven't got any Polish trading contacts yet.

It's a TC2068 with the second joystick port not fitted and a daughterboard. Not sure if the ROM is different. There's loads of space in the TS/TC 2068 EXROM for more code.

Drat, I had been planning to go, but I slept very badly and was just too
tired.

How was the meet?

You missed the demo of my Ultima clone. But it was only the character
generator. I vote we have the next one in London as the drive there and
back was insane.
