If more and more Spectrums end up as junk, then that makes those that are
left worth more, so do you think some time in the far distant future we can
look forward to a rich guy with a spectrum in his climate controlled vault?

All to do with percieved value. There's a classic car I'm after that's
not particularly well regarded which means it's quite cheap. When the
remaning models on the road dwindle to the 100s it will appreciate in
value. But they sold an awful lot of Spectrums.

My car is one of about 15 of its type still known to be in existence in
the UK...

It is however worthless as anything but scrap as it's a crappy 90s
peugeot :)

I have never been a car owner or driver, but you remind me of when my
father wanted to sell his car in the '90s (Sierra Sapphire I think it was)
and bought some of those Auto Flogger type mags. (They were on cheap
newsprint, like Micro Mart.)

Each brand of car had a table listing the prices you could expect for
various models and years. Usually this was at least a couple of hundred
quid, but I remember flipping through it and finding that a Yugo might
reasonably net you twenty pounds.

That's enough for 200 Chomp bars, fact fans! (Do they still exist? Not
seen one for ages. But what I really miss is the lemonade Fizzy Chewits
that turned your tongue blue. Now those were around only a decade ago. Or
15 years. Hmm.)

Earlier this week my age rolled over to a power of two.

I'm a bit drunk.

Love,

Eq. xx

Hmm what about my Mismatch 512 though, that worth anything, or the Oric
Atmos?
I doubt the Atari 800 xl with disc drive is, one heck of a lot of those
were made.
I have, going back to Spectrum, a Spectre Comms Rom for a vtx 5000 with the
Dave gorski code in it of course.
This made the VTX usable in 128k mode.

What other bits of Spectrum, not much, a Trojan light pen and some non
determinate interfaces.

I hope so. :-) I've got about 10 of the little blighters!
I wonder how many as a percentage of those produced are still working today? 3%? 6?
