My only claim to speccy fame is that I did a loading screen for
AOTMZFECFM,the Matthew Smith game that never came out.(Matt is still a good
personal friend)
Zappo the dog was based on my german shepherd,Zaphod.
Which I don't suppose you still have a copy of.

You suppose correctly,I do still have a tape of the loading screen
tho. However,AOTMZFECFM may have survived thanks to me clearing out Matthew's
attic after he disappeared to Holland. He was very excited when I gave him
the box of tapes and said the source code was on one of them!

You do realise you are going to have to upload a copy of at least the
loading screen to WoS. People will probably hound you until you come up with
the game though. I mean AOTMZFECFM is right up there with Solar Jetman and
Great Giana Sisters in terms of its legendary status on the Spectrum.

Well,err - anybody else? :)
Ro.
On a related note, where exactly IS Dominic Robinson himself these days? That
Rainbow Processor thingy - well I *still* don't think I get it, it's been,what,
12 years? That guy was a genius, and I think, I'm not sure what his name is - the
Intensity scroller guy - Andrew Braybrook? ,too. Where are they?
Rohit.
Rainbow processor is actually a really simple idea, just needed thinking of!
The point is, the ULA scans the screen memory line by line as it outputs to
the screen, so if you change the colour of a square on the screen while the
ULA is on that line, the next line will be a different colour to the
previous line, even though they're in the same colour-square.
The difficult bit is getting the timing right to actually show anything
useful.

The best I've seen is Color Draw, a very cool program from the Czech
Republic which lets you do a 128x192 picture with a different colour for
every four pixels and a different brightness intensity for every 8 pixels.

kShould none of theis material appear within the next month, you will be
subject to a mass "sending to conventry" by this newsgroup. IE all your posts
will be bounced to uk.local.coventry, where people know nothing about Speccies
or crisp flavours.
You have ten seconds to comply.

If there's any chance that we could get to see it I have no doubt you
would be nominated President for Life of comp.sys.sinclair.

Well I have no idea how to get it into a PC.I could make a .wav of the tape
(only the loading screen,Matt Smith has the game tape back)and upload it to
alt.binaries.sinclair...but it's an Art Studio file, someone will be able to
make a .jpeg out if it maybe?Assuming the tape has survived without dropouts
that is!

Get him to post it, GET HIM TO POST IT!

Should be easily done. Plus, if it's a .wav file, it can probably be
restored if it's slightly corrupted.

Yes, that can be done.
Matthew
And so I did :) with some help from WOS.
