Oh no! He's still banging on about the car.
He's a stubborn old git eh?
Really makes me wonder if his depiction in Micro Men was closer than I thought. I thought they treated him rather cruelly in Micro Men, and he really came out as the bad guy, but he still seemed to have an arrogant streak in that interview! Perhaps it was just because he was poorly...

I never said there was any news[1], just that it was worth reading :p I found it quite entertaining, but of course it was nothing we didn't already know.
Chris [1] Except the electric car thing, but that's not exactly news after God-knows-how-long, the only new thing is the date when he might show it, but I'd take that with a catering-size box of salt given that I'm sure he said "next year" last time, and he isn't known for sticking to deadlines.
Have to disagree with Jack there. The ZX80 was a novelty, but the ZX81 with a 16K RAM pack was perfectly usable. There were plenty of other mono-machines around at the time for many times the price.
But will it be sold mail order before they have built any?

Agreed - although when I first read the title of the post, I thought it was "Uncle Clive in the Garden". I must be tired! It would be a great title for a CSSCGC entry though :)

I keep reading it as that too, and I created the thread title. It wasn't intentional.

It would have to be a crap ALS clone of course :)
Perhaps Clive has invented a new electric-powered lawnmower, and you have to mow the lawn before the prototype blows up/cuts out.
I've been meaning to write Meteorite Man, a crap rip-off (ie. direct copy with the graphics and messages changed) of Alan Moore or Spike's Metal Detector games. It would have the Meteorite Men's ridiculous trailer-based metal detector (just about visible here: http://www.meteoritemen.com/photo-gallery/action.htm), depicted as a one pixel high white line UDG behind a crap car UDG. The bits of scrap metal and ambiguous rock being picked up would be scientifically analysed at the end of each stage to determine whether they are meteorite and their worth. You would visit famous meteorite landing sites (fields in the middle of nowhere - Ed). It'll be great if I ever get round to writing [the additional code required for] it.
Oh dear, his street cred will be zero soon then. Is he using the ball wheels from the ball barrow on there do you think to use them up.
At least its not my old mate Trevor, He makes loads just talking about his radios that everyone now copies.

Yes, but since Dysan now makes their own motors and also since th e demise of the washing machine, he might have some spare capacity.
You are all assuming it will be made here. I plump for the Ukraine.

The mind boggles as to what Uncle Clive might actually be doing in a Garden. And whose garden at that?
