Power Series NVRAM Question

Howdy All,

Having a miserable day today. Just replaced my bad IO3 board and was
swapping out the NVRAM chip and I bent and broke one of the pins.
Anyone know someone who can help me fix the NVRAM chip? Currently I
am down since my serial number is tied into this chip.

If it's the narrow part that actually goes into the socket and not the wide
part closer to the body, you can cut a whole pin off a dead chip and solder
it onto the wide part stub.

Or, you can get a socket that the chip would fit into, solder a piece of
fine wire into the pin matching the chips' broken pin (quickly, the socket
bodies melt easily), insert the chip, solder the wire against whatever is
left of the old pin, then plug the chip/socket assembly into the socket on
the board. This works with a DIP even when the original pin is broken off
flush with the body--you can get enough solder on the exposed metal to
connect the wire.
