new units, only opened to upgrade the memory in each and test.
Everything in the box is new and unopened.
When upgrading my Palm V to 8Meg, I bought 3 extra pieces of the NEC
8M DRAM parts. Upgrading my unit went smoothly, so I've done 2 more
units, with one to go.
I'm and Electrical Engineer with 13 year experience and have upgraded
these units carefully. ESD safe procedures were used, safe
temperatures were used to remove and replace the covers, and proper
surface mount tools and a microscope used to remove and replace the
memory chip and resistors.
I have confidence in my work and will warranty the units for 3 months
after receipt against any electrical failures. Of course, if you
mechanically damage the units this is not covered.
THESE UNITS HAVE BEEN OPENED AND UPGRADED SO 3COM'S WARRANTY IS VOID!!
For $90 extra, I will extend the warranty from 3 months to 1 year.
The first unit is $500 and looks exactly like when it was taken from
the box. The 2nd unit is $480 and has two very small nicks on the
circumference of the case from opening the unit up. The slight nicks
are only visable if you look at the side of the unit closely and are
looking for them. They do not distract from the units appearance.
I'm including a slightly used 3COM slim leather Palm V case with the
2nd unit. I used this on my Palm V till I got a hard case.
I have several jpegs of the units that I can send to interested
parties.
The buyer will pay actual shipping cost. I will send immediately
after receiving a money order or cashiers check.
