PocketChess & Vexed is by far the two best games I've come across.

Crosswords 3.0 (an excellent implementation of Scrabble). I can win half
the time against the "collegiate" level dictionary, but against the Scrabble
standard reference, I'm hosed. And the price is right.

If you like text adventures, Frotz is a text adventure program that
plays z-machine adventures

Would you have any advice on really good games, too? Esp. SciFi/Fantasy
or something like Infocoms Lurking Horror?

_Anchorhead_ is a particularly good Lovecraftian horror game.

_Spider and Web_ is science fiction, although perhaps not primarily
science fiction. I think it's really good, but then I wrote it.

_Varicella_, which I still haven't played, is sort of fantasy. But then
sort of not.

Many of the good games haven't been genre fantasy or SF; they've been more
mainstream, or mixed, or (what one might call) magical realism.

See http://www.ifarchive.org/indexes/if-archiveXgamesXzcode.html
for the game files. The PalmFrotz documentation sohuld explain how to get
them into Palm-playable format.

As long as I'm posting about this, let me note that the Fifth Annual
Interactive Fiction Competition is now running. 37 short text adventures,
of which 19 are z-machine games (and therefore PalmOS-compatible.)

Anyone can vote; download the games and play as many as you can manage by
November 15th.
