OpenSource and F.Heinz Consultora Offer InterfaceViewer Special

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA - October 5, 1995. F. HEINZ Consultora and
OpenSource today announced a discount price for InterfaceViewer,
the user interface documentation program for NEXTSTEP developers.

During this promotion, which runs until Friday, November 3rd,
InterfaceViewer is just $250 -- a $200 savings. This discount can
not be used with any other discounts or specials and is only
available through OpenSource, Inc.

InterfaceViewer solves a problem common to all NEXTSTEP development:
documenting the contents of InterfaceBuilder files (the ubiquitous
nibs ). While IB offers great tools for creating user interfaces,
its capabilities are very limited when it comes to finding out the
inner workings of an existing nib file or documenting the contents
of such a file along with the rest of the source code for a project.

InterfaceViewer is useful when you want to use any of NeXT's great
mini-examples to find out something about the AppKit: the source
code is usually easy to follow and profusely documented, but you
still have to painfully untangle the connections inside the nib
files one by one before you understand what the program does. It
is also a boon when you get someone new in your team, and they have
to catch up with what the rest of the group has done so far. They
can just take the nib files to IV and play with the connections
until they know what's in there.

It is also very useful for creating high-quality EPS representations
of the UI elements for inclusion in your user documentation or at
making poster- or blackboard- sized documents for discussion during
team work.

InterfaceViewer is the only way to completely document the working
of your system, other than doing diagrams of the user interface by
hand.

"IV [InterfaceViewer] is a wicked utility," says Chris Miner,
OpenSource Technical Director, "I can't imagine why any developer
wouldn't want to add it to his resources."

"With OPENSTEP on the horizon, more and more developers are
endeavoring to learn NEXTSTEP programming," explains Isabel Berizzo,
Director of Marketing for F. HEINZ Consultora. "InterfaceViewer is
an invaluable tool for both documentation and instruction. We are
delighted that OpenSource approached us with the idea for this
special. We know that once people use InterfaceViewer, they will
recomend it to all of the fellow developers."
