Sun now has a Virtual Window Manager, which has been installed here by someone who grabbed it off the net. It is most interesting.

The first thing that one notices is that it displays a row of 3-D shaded tiles across the bottom of the screen. This looks very much like the NeXTSTEP Dock, and the tiles look to be of the same ilk.

This VirtWinMgr allows one to switch between different "DeskTops" which could be of any type: OpenWin, X-11, (OpenStep?)...

Now, lets hope that OpenStep compliance in Solaris becomes standard equipment, and not an add-on package.

Actually, sounds more like HP's VUE, which is part of COSE last I heard...
