Help with my being able to use my QuicktimePro v7.3.1 with my Mac OSX
v10.3.9
and to get it to work again like it did with its full save and compose
MIDI now after some screw up
I did with the G4, I spent all the money I had
buying a Yamaha keyboard and the interface
and made 3 MIDI files and saved them. Then I
dids something that made QuicktimePro revert to just the player.???

I do not want to upgrade to buy the updated
Mac OSX 1.4 - I don't want it and don't have the $99.
Apple will not help me with anything other than tell me to buy the
v1.4 and then getting the update of my Quicktime Pro.

I bought the G4 with the version but someway in
my ignorance I deactivated the QuicktimePro and
now all it does is act like the Quicktime player and
I can't get Apple to help me get the QuicktimePro
registration reactivated as they do it with only the
Mac OSX 1.4 and I have not got the $99 to get the
v1.4.

I've spent all I have to play my MIDI and compose and save it but now
I can't use it for that without
the registration data number.

Can anybody help me with solving this to use the
QuicktimePro like it was before I messed it up and
deactivated it to just the player. I would be most
grateful for your help.

Thanks!
Tom

Surely you saved your registration code for Quicktime Pro.
What happens when you enter it again in System Preferences > Quicktime ?

Yes! It still remains plain QT rather than QT PRO.
I went back to the apple store and bought it again.
QT Pro v7.4. All is as well as can be expected using
the G4 and MacOSX v1.3.9.

I'm going back to my old PPC using QT Pro v5 with
OS v8.6. Everything now works perfect. For my needs
I should have stayed with this.

Which, of course, is completely and utterly useless without the
associated name. : ) Idiot.
