MP3pro will play on anything that can play MP3. The problem is that if
the device that you are playing the MP3pro with (software, portable
player, whatever..) doesn't supprt MP3pro then the quality SUCKS.
MP3pro rips the lower frequency at normal MP3 and uses the "pro" for
the higher frequency. I would love a plugin for itunes to play MP3pro.
Anybody heard of one? I understand that this isn't going to fix the
sound quality of MP3pro files that are on my Ipod but at least the
music on my pc will sound better. I plan to just re rip my music
library but its going to take a long lonng loooong time and better
sounding music on my pc would be nice while I work on it. I ripped all
this way back in the day when MP3pro was the best thing around but has
since died off. I went with beta instead of vhs darn it.

Why not use what you were using before to play them?

Well I can't have my whole music library on the hard drive of each pc I
use. When I am at work I can't put 10's of gig of music on that pc.
So I use Itunes and plug my player in to the PC. I do that so that I
can also hear ohter systme "beeps" and stuff that my pc will do. Like
let my know that I have new email and ..... I also like Itunes. I was
useing MusicMatch but I have gotten use to Itunes and I think I like it
better now. But I hate how it doesn't get CD art work but that is a
whole other topic that shouldn't be in this conversation. So if Itunes
could correctly play MP3pro then at least when I listen through a PC
things would sound much better.
