I have a new 12" iBook that I got through the Apple web site a month
ago--I'm very pleased with everything except the touchpad. It isn't nearly
as quick and sensitive as the touchpad on my Dell laptop. I have the
touchpad and "click" settings as "fast" as I think I'm able to set them, and
it still seems that the touchpad is more sluggish than it should be.

The faster systems weren't an option, so the iBook was my only choice.
Should I just get used to it, or is there some other tweak I should try to
get the touchpad, etc to move along a little faster??

Thanks,

Thanks Matt,
Combined with the necessary "Mouse Zoom:"

plugged all the way up, now my Powerbook pointer is really cooking. I
am not sure about the various acceleration curves but this is surly the
way to go.

There was this very pretty girl bending over her laptop trying to bring
up some problem with her iPod in an Apple store recently. The mouse
was so slow it made her look retarded, repeatedly pecking at the track
screen.

I am glad someone else besides me noticed the Apple defect.
Recalibrating the screen and not using the scroll features makes this
thing almost as fast as IBM's "little red button." It really saves
time being able to have the pointer automatically move to the next
button. Thanks for the tip about "SideTrack:"
